NHS Haringey

Rashida Choudhery, Lead Manager Continuing Care, Adults' and Older People's Services at NHS Haringey, describes her experience of Caretrack. NHS Haringey has been using Caretrack since August 2009.

“We wanted a single system for recording all aspects of patient information. Before purchasing Caretrack, we had one system for invoices and all financial records and another for personal information, such as assessments. Different teams were responsible for learning disabilities, mental health and older patients and everyone had their own way of recording and monitoring continuing healthcare information. It was crucial to bring all this information together in a single system.

“One of the features which is very beneficial is the way Caretrack develops reports at a single click. We regularly have to report to NHS London, for example, and before Caretrack, this meant manually pulling information from our old databases to create each report, which was very time-consuming. Caretrack has a feature, called the Funded Care Report, which does this for us automatically.

“It is also really valuable within our own organisation. I am often asked to report on the number of people in continuing healthcare and costs. Caretrack is a web-based system, so appropriate people have a password and can access this sort of information automatically, rather than relying on me to report figures to them. Being able to automatically generate reports saves work, time and improves the way information is shared.

“I have also been very impressed by the support CHS Healthcare have provided. When we started using Caretrack, we found the new system did not allow for paying for services in advance, which we needed to do for a number of small suppliers. The response from CHS Healthcare was to immediately work on an adjustment and not simply to say ‘we can’t do it’. We have found a solution and we really value the flexible, supportive approach.”
