Help with self-directed care budget

CHS Healthcare is a member of the In Control association of personalised health care third party budget managers.

This means we have the experience of continuing healthcare and social care and the commitment to enabling people to have greater control over their individual package of care.

How does our service work?

Self-directed care is a major, important new development in continuing and domiciliary care.

As a company working in the care sector for the past 15 years, CHS Healthcare brings valuable experience and expertise to this new field. Our wide range of work for hospitals and primary care trusts involves commissioning care, identifying suitable providers, negotiating fees and managing invoices.

Importantly, we are also fully independent. We do not provide any care ourselves or have any links to care providers. We are therefore ideally placed to broker and manage care in an independent way, seeking the best outcomes for each client.

Our current self-directed care work

We are currently working with Sheffield Primary Care Trust and East Sussex Council to support clients with personal budgets.

CHS Healthcare provides support for planning sessions, care brokerage, assesses the best care and services for each client, holds the patient personal health budget and pays the care providers directly.

Susan Adams, CHS Healthcare Area Manager (South) says:: “It is very rewarding to see the real benefits of personal health budgets for the people we work with.

“It is clear that designing care around the needs and aspirations of each client enables individuals to reach their potential and enjoy better health outcomes.

“The key is the focus on the outcomes desired by the individual, and this could well see us move away from traditional models of care delivery.”
